What are Dinners for Eight?

Dinners for Eight are purposely designed as a way for you to meet new people at church and get to know your church family better. They provide a casual opportunity to spend time eating and sharing together. Groups will plan a meal and get together at a host’s home for dinner. The emphasis is on fun and fellowship so you don’t have to be a great cook to participate. In addition to having dinner together, plan on spending some time playing games or just hanging out. It doesn’t get any easier than this!

How do Dinners for Eight work?

Simply fill out the form below. Once groups are formed, your host will contact the rest of their group. Dinner groups are encouraged to be creative in the meals they enjoy together. Consider picking a dinner “theme night” (i.e. Italian night, dessert night, soup night, etc.) and everyone can bring a dish that goes along with that theme. All groups are encouraged to meet Friday, May 17^th but the host can be flexible to meet the needs of the group.

This summer Kishwaukee Bible Church has the opportunity to reach the children and families of our communities for Christ through Vacation Bible School. This program is for children ages 5-6th grade. (We also offer classes for the younger children whose parents are assisting in VBS.)

In the past God has brought over 180 children through our doors and we’ve seen him open many children’s eyes to the truth of His salvific plan!

Vacation Bible school provides a time for games and crafts, snacks and most importantly the children hear the Word taught as actors bring to life the Bible and God’s plan of salvation. This message is also explored in a small group setting where the gospel is clearly explained.

There is SO much that goes into making a VBS work and because of the numbers of children, we need every willing heart who is available to serve. If you are new to the church, this is a perfect way to get involved, use your talents, and meet new people.

Please note the list of jobs below. Some of these need to be done in advance of VBS and can be done if you work a full-time job. Other areas of service need to be filled during the actual hours of VBS.
